SALT
SALT is the second chapter to SILT, a new site-specific performance for Estuary Festival launching in June 2025
Date
2025
Location
Essex
SALT is a new climate-responsive performance, the second chapter, that follows on from our site-specific commission SILT for Estuary 2021.
Bringing our distinct process of working with communities through movement and site, SALT will be a live perfomance in a tidal pool, performed by an intergenerational community of over 20 people including local open water swimmers who performed in SILT in 2021 and BA physical theatre students from East 15 Performing Arts School.
The SALT creative team includes choreographers and performers Becky Namgauds and Aris Papadopoulos alongside sound artist Lee Berwick who will create and mix a multi-speaker soundscape from sounds recorded along the estuary.
Our work celebrates a climate responsive approach to culture, ecology and locality. We recently became the first artist signatories of the International Swimmable Cities Charter.
SALT will premiere on 27 and 28 June 2025
